Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Springfield, MO
Peoplelink Staffing has partnered with a premier trailer parts manufacturer in the Springfield, MO area. They are looking to add 1 to 2 Accounts Payable Specialists to their team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist , you will play a key role in managing vendor payments, supporting month-end close activities, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and helping improve accounts payable procedures. Account Payable Specialists Hours & Pay
Hours: Monday - Friday: 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm (depending on location)
Pay Range: $21.50 to $24 / hr.

Account Payable Specialist Daily Duties

• Process vendor invoices and match them to purchase orders, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Perform general accounting functions, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities.
• Reconcile vendor statements and assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with monthly accounts payable accruals and ensure proper expense coding.
• Collaborate with the AP team to provide weekly cash forecasts and financial reporting.
• Lead the accounts payable portion of internal and external audits, including credit facility reviews.
• Prepare and review vouchers, invoices, checks, and financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of freight charges, refunds, rentals, and other financial transactions.
• Support month-end close by ensuring AP transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Research and resolve payment issues, discrepancies, and vendor inquiries.
• Respond to questions from employees, vendors, and clients regarding accounts and payments.
• Perform data entry and account coding in accordance with company procedures.
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
• Adhere to internal controls and financial security procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications

• Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
• Experience with ERP systems or accounting software is a plus.

Accounts Payable Specialists Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Finance experience preferred.
