Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job

Overview Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) traveling assignment in a short-term acute care hospital in Lodi, CA. Start date: 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,546–$2,807 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 5x8 days. This position involves perioperative patient care and direct first-assist duties in the operating room. Key Highlights - Weekly pay: $2,546–$2,807 per week - Guaranteed hours: 36 per week - Contract duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Day shift with after-hours call - Start date: 08/24/2026 - Setting: Short-term acute care hospital perioperative services - Education/credential requirements: RNFA program completion per AORN standards required Responsibilities - Perform circulating and scrubbing duties in the operating room, including instrument and sponge counts per policy. - Verbally confirm the surgical site/side before induction of anesthesia. - Assist with tissue handling, dissection, and coordinated vascular control (clamps, coagulation, ligation) in collaboration with the surgeon. - Suturing of muscle, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin in collaboration with the surgeon; place drains as indicated. - Assist with cannulation/decannulation procedures when indicated; participate in transferring the patient as needed to postoperative areas.
