Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become a part of our team, focusing on conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Join us to perform thorough eye examinations for Veterans in a fulfilling, non-treatment, non-determination capacity that emphasizes assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Precisely document findings from exams and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is responsible for making disability determinations, not the provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week.
• Location: In-person role.
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day.
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

Requirements:

• Possesses an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license .
• Experienced in Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Comfortable using technology for record reviews and documentation.
