Accounting Manager

Job Summary

A stable construction and industrial infrastructure organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with strong payroll, accounts receivable, and collections experience. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in keeping financial operations organized, accurate, and compliant while partnering across accounting, payroll, collections, and office administration.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, collections, and related account reconciliations.
- Manage payroll operations, including vacation, sick leave, workers’ compensation, 401k, and employee benefit-related records.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account analysis, audit schedules, and month-end close support.
- Assist with tracking and reporting capital projects, fixed assets, inventory close, and general bookkeeping activity.
- Handle collections activity, including debt collection, liens, pre-liens, and communication with accounts payable.
- Support hiring, training, and supervision of office staff while maintaining accurate accounting and payroll records.

- Pay range: $33 to $39 per hour, DOE.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage payroll, accounts receivable, and collections operations.
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, billing, invoicing, and monthly close support.
- Oversee payroll services, employee benefit records, and related compliance documentation.
- Support office staff training, workflow management, and accounting process accuracy.

- 6 to 10 years of accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, or collections experience.
- Experience with Sage 100 Contractor software.
- Knowledge of business accounting, bookkeeping, and accounting software integration.
- Strong understanding of collections processes, including liens and pre-liens.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple accounting priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual Spanish skills.
- Experience in the construction, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or contractor services industry.
- Prior experience supervising or training office accounting staff.
