Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for a Hospital Maintenance Technician.

Work Schedule: On-Site

Pay Rate: $31/hr, Based on experience.

The maintenance technician repairs various selected equipment in the hospital including all aspects of patient rooms. Assists outside contractors and service vendors during minor construction, maintenance and repair projects. Performs other unforeseen duties as assigned.

Primary Job Duties:

• Performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks including repairs to doors, windows, and other building parts; assists in assembling furniture and other wood and metal structures; repairs electrical components including replacement of ballasts, bulbs, fixtures; tests circuits; clears plumbing clogs and replaces various plumbing components.
• Performs or coordinate emergency repairs to building systems.
• Performs daily checks and inspections of exterior lighting, grounds and irrigation systems.
• Update various documents including work orders related to labor and/or materials as requested by Facility Manager or Chief Engineer.
• Must be available for emergency call back and standby duty.
• Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality.
• Actively participates in on-going training to maintain, update and add knowledge to her/his personal skill and knowledge inventory.
• Utilizes computerized work order system.
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of conference rooms on hospital grounds.
• Notifies Facility Manager or Chief Engineer of A/V equipment needing repair or maintenance.
• Provides internal and external clients with exceptional, superior customer service collaboration, competence, communication, caring.

Job Specifications:

• Education: High school graduate preferred.
• Licensure: Must possess a valid California Drivers License as duties include driving on clients behalf. A clean driving record is required evidenced by annual submittal to the Property & Facilities Manager of DMV driving record.
• Experience: 2-3 years experience trouble shooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems. Experience in hospitality and healthcare industries helpful.
• Skills: Has basic working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel computer programs. Must know how to conduct internet searches. Familiar with hand and power tools, able to read blueprints. Must be able to move, lift and deliver light furniture as needed. Knowledge of plumbing and electrical. Follow safety and infection control procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing. Ability to work with a variety of individual personalities and ability to adapt to changing conditions. Must be able to speak fluently, read and write in English. Can maintain confidential information.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may participate in the following activities: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move bulky supplies, equipment and furniture.
• Hours of Work: Normally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work other hours as business need necessary including some evenings and weekends. May need to be available for emergency call back and standby duty.
