A pharmacy professional position is available, specializing in long-term care and mail order environments. This opportunity offers an overnight schedule, working seven consecutive nights followed by seven days off, from 9 PM to 8 AM for an initial 13-week period. This is a contract-to-hire role, providing the potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related inquiries.
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, focusing on storage, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use and maintenance of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications for both internal and external use, adhering strictly to sterile preparation protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to address drug-related issues.
• Ensure all practices are in line with the state pharmacy board licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with a valid Texas pharmacy license.
• Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments preferred.
• Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work overnight shifts.

Shift Details:

• Overnight, 7 days on followed by 7 days off
• 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM
