Position Security Officer Full Time $17.00/hr 2nd Shift: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Weekend Availability, and Holidays. Location: Summer Bay Orlando by Exploria Resorts Job Summary The Security Officer is a highly visible, perpetually patrolling employee who is expected to seek out opportunities to improve the guest experience and resolve challenges in an effective and timely manner. Position is responsible for the patrol of Summer Bay Resort property for the purpose of prevention, protection, early detection, or assistance of other community services or agencies. Responsibilities And Duties Check equipment (e.g., uniforms, vehicles, radios, emergency medical, fire fighting equipment, key, flashlights). Patrol resort property for prevention, protection, early detection, or assistance of other community services or agencies, monitor and respond to radio communications, assist guests as needed, record tour reports using the mobile device, address any suspicious activity immediately and respond to incidents promptly, use “de‑escalation” practices to resolve disputes, and follow directions provided by Resort Management or supervisor. Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment assigned to positions. Proper preparation and submission of all Incident Reports according to standard operating procedures provided by the company, including proper form use, timeliness, and proper documentation format. Receive, store, and properly log evidence. Conduct investigations as necessary and as assigned by Management. Check, patrol, tour, and secure the properties during shift. Answer fire, gas, or other alarms as needed or requested on property. Manning the Guard House. Monitoring radios, answering phones, directing callers to the proper extension, providing accurate driving directions, managing access of guests, visitors, vendors, and employees, challenging pedestrian traffic to ensure proper clearance, key control, record‑keeping for the shift activities, and notifying when emergency agencies arrive and depart the resort. Report all company policies and safety regulations observed. Responsible for special projects or assignments for various areas as assigned by the Supervisor of the Department or Resort Management. Obtain or utilize First Aid and related training for use within the position and for utilization, when necessary, in the field according to company guidelines. Attend periodic scheduled refresher training. Maintain a safe and clean work area for guests and employees. Ensure compliance of all company policies as outlined for all employees. Perform other primary duties as needed or required by business demands. All other duties assigned by management. Qualifications State of Florida class D security license required. Valid Driver's license required. Maintain proficient knowledge of Florida Criminal Code and Florida Criminal procedures. Assist with minor maintenance problems as needed. Assist with delivery of housekeeping items overnight when that department is closed. May be required to handle special projects as assigned.
