Cost Estimator - Operations

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is hiring a full-time Quoter for our Carbide Division accounts to provide accurate job quotes and superior support services to internal and external carbide customers. Working as a crucial member of our Carbide Operations team, the Quoter works closely with manufacturing, operations, and sales to provide estimates or job quotes and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Use experience & knowledge of manufacturing processes to provide job quotes in response to customer requests for carbide components, etc. Maintain a system of record keeping for all quotes to use as a reference tool for future quotes. Work closely with manufacturing, operations, sales, engineering, and quality teams to provide excellent customer service and maintain company profitability. Provide summary reports and other regular and special reports as needed. Continually evaluate and review effectiveness of pricing structures, quotation procedures and recommended improvements. Qualifications Candidate must possess high school diploma or equivalent. Prior machining, engineering, or quoting experience. Associate degree in mechanical drafting, preferred. Knowledge And Skills Solid technical, mechanical, and mathematical skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other product specifications and design data. Effective computer literacy and ability to quickly learn and use required software. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines. Familiarity with carbide manufacturing processes, preferred. Able to work independently and with teams. Ability to take intelligent, decisive risks and professionally justify them as necessary. Excellent organizational skills, self‑motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks. Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills. Compensation & Benefits Competitive starting wage with the opportunity for two pay increases in the first year.
