What you will do in this role: Accept responsibility for own actions; offers and accepts constructive criticism in a non‑defensive manner. Adhere to the hospital attendance and tardiness policy. Appropriately clock in/out and return from break and lunch on time. Adhere to schedule and provide coverage in assigned areas. Adaptable to changes in workflow. Adjust break and lunch times to ensure appropriate department coverage for optimal patient care. Answer phone by the 4th ring, take messages and transfer calls appropriately. Strictly follow the Personal Telephone/Cell Phone Usage policy (916‑010). Use and inventory reagents and supplies appropriately; order supplies when needed. Assist in maintaining general cleanliness and safety of the work area to ensure it is clean and free of safety hazards. Assist in phlebotomy/collection and manage STAT collections in a timely manner. Correctly and proficiently chart, mail, and fax lab reports to physician mailboxes/offices. Correctly collect, process/send, document, and file COC drug screens. Distribute incoming and outgoing mail. Meet Ethics and Compliance expectations: All employees will be held accountable for behaviors relative to the Mission and Values Statement and for attending Code of Conduct training at least annually. Follow SOP for checking and reconciling CBN tests and draws. Print, review, and reconcile computer reports and worksheets as assigned. Have no unapproved overtime. Maintain competency in designated work areas, perform the appropriate volume of workload within specific time frames, complete work from previous shifts, and assist others as available or needed.
