Cashier/Customer Service

Essential Duties And Responsibilities  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reports for scheduled work regularly and on time. Notifies supervisor as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence.

Ensures that quality customer service is provided to all customers, donors and employees.

Follows all customer service guidelines; strives to provide exceptional customer service and ensures customer feels appreciated. Handles customer or donor complaints or inquiries appropriately. Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

Processes received merchandise and donations, pulls or rotates merchandise, prices and tags merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill. Accepts payment and makes change.

Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.

Cleans shelves, counters, or tables and performs janitorial duties as required.

Follows all policies, procedures, and work rules.

Practices safe lifting techniques and follows all safety standards.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
