The Helen Boucher, M.D., Director of Health ProfessionsAdvising serves as an agile, highly strategic leader positioned atthe intersection of a rapidly evolving healthcare industry andhigher education. This mission-critical role combines visionaryleadership with a commitment to student success and educationalequity. The Director will elevate the College's health professionsprogramming, ensuring that students from all backgrounds are fullyequipped and empowered to identify, apply to, and be accepted bythe most competitive professional programs in the country. Anambassador of the College's commitment to student excellence inpreparation for entering the health professions, the Director willcultivate relationships with graduate programs, professionalassociations, students, families, and alumni. Job Description Essential Functions Leadership Provide visionary, strategic direction for Health ProfessionsAdvising at Holy Cross, balancing core program strengths withinnovative approaches that address evolving industry and admissiontrends; Manage daily operations, program budget, and professional staffto ensure efficient, high-impact service delivery; Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain activeinvolvement in relevant associations (e.g., AAMC, AMCAS, NAAHP,NEAAHP, NECOME) to remain at the forefront of health professionsadvising. Advising Oversee comprehensive advising support to students and alumnipursuing careers in the health professions, including medicine,dentistry, veterinary medicine, and allied health fields;collaborate with faculty members of the Health Professions AdvisingCommittee to ensure individualized support for candidates for thecomplex and competitive application process; Chair the Health Professions Advising committee, collaboratingwith faculty members to coordinate dossier reviews, providefeedback to candidates, and author institutional endorsementletters; Coordinate application-cycle support, including mockinterviews. Program Development Design and execute innovative programming, including workshops,panels, and information sessions on application strategies,clinical/research opportunities, gap year planning, and healthcaretrends; Serve as the primary institutional liaison to healthprofessions graduate programs, external professional bodies, andalumni networks; Represent the Health Professions Advising at key college-wideevents, including student orientation, admissions open houses, andalumni events. Technology and Data Leverage emerging technologies and digital platforms tooptimize operational workflows, modernize student communicationsand maintain robust online advising resources; Track, analyze, and report on candidate outcomes andmatriculation data to inform programmatic enhancements anddemonstrate student success. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or higherpreferred. Minimum of 2 years of college academic or career advising,health professions advising, health professions admissions, relatedstudent services experience, or related healthcarementoring\. Deep, current understanding of health career pathways,admission requirements and application procedures across diversehealthcare fields. Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and experiencesupporting students from backgrounds historically underrepresentedin STEM disciplines and healthcare professions. Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills with anability to engage diverse internal and external stakeholderseffectively. Proven track record in program management, budget oversight,and leading collaborative teams. Skilled in leveraging emerging technology platforms foradvising operations and analyzing program data to drivedecision-making. Compensation: The salary range for this exempt-levelposition is $104,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience.
