Real Estate Analyst

Position Summary The Junior Real Estate Analyst supports the Valuation Services Department by conducting research and analysis related to valuation, market studies, economic trends, and affordable housing opportunities. Responsibilities Conduct economic and market research on target areas via telephone interviews and internet resources. Identify subsidized, tax‑credit, and market‑rate comparables and gather comparable rent data. Perform preliminary property screenings, market analysis, comparable rent surveys, and demand analysis. Interview local housing authorities, planners, community organizations, and property managers to understand market demand and conditions. Collect and analyze information on new developments by speaking with developers, searching newspapers, and using online sources. Synthesize gathered data and draft market‑study reports, including primary market area maps, property comparables, and demand analysis. Assist with appraisals of proposed and existing real‑estate developments and support market comparisons for rental and home‑ownership studies. Conduct in‑person site visits for assigned properties and quantify excluded properties in the market area. Complete Novogradac’s Affordable Housing Training & Assessment Program within required timeframes. Assist with additional duties, projects, and partner requests as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in real estate, economics, finance, or a related field. 1–2 years of experience in real‑estate research, market analysis, or commercial appraisal. Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor‑vehicle history check. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in telephone and web‑based research. Strong analytical skills, ability to gather information, conduct analyses, and present findings. Solid organizational and follow‑through skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize a fast‑paced workload, and manage multiple concurrent projects. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
