Floor Tech

Job Overview The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and performing floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations. Roles & Responsibilities Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self. Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments. Maintain a clean work area. Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules. Take direction and respond to supervision. Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner. Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance. Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items. Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks. Present a professional appearance and conduct. Understand customer service and satisfaction. Understand reporting systems, and the environment. Operate motorized cleaning equipment. Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area. Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring. Complete work assignments in a timely manner. Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedures. Use and maintain equipment properly. Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely. Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”. Work without normal supervision. Report safety hazards as appropriate. Qualifications No education requirement. 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Complete all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team. Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Physical Demands & Work Environment Employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Work environment characteristics include varied lighting, temperature, and indoor air quality conditions typical of a multi‑story commercial facility.
