About the Position

Job Title: RN Ambulatory Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Ambulatory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: Endoscopy experience, Pre-Op and PACU experience Description: Client with 4 operating rooms and approximately 20-25 cases per day. Endoscopy suites consist of 2 rooms performing around 12-15 cases daily. Seeking a traveler with a minimum of 1 year of experience; first-time travelers are accepted. Permanent staff is required to wait 6 months to return as travelers. Patient population includes all ages starting from 12 months. Patients will be recovered in the same room as their Pre-Op. Lower acuity same-day surgical cases include orthopedic, podiatry, general, urology, gynecology, ENT, and endoscopy procedures. Interventional pain management procedures will also be conducted. Serving patients undergoing cataract surgeries, but no cosmetic surgeries are performed. Patient ratios are 1:1 in Pre-op and Phase I PACU, and 3:1 in Phase II PACU. Required certifications for RNs include BLS, ACLS, and PALS in accordance with their specific roles. Experience in endoscopy, pre-operation, and recovery processes is necessary. Surgical Techs should have familiarity with the procedures mentioned and experience in prepping case carts. Anesthesia Techs must assist with intubation and have proficiency with nerve blocks and IV start skills. Endo Techs are required to have general endoscopy experience and knowledge in cleaning and storing scopes. CNA responsibilities include assisting RN staff in the care of post-anesthesia patients. Sterile Processing Techs must have experience in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes. Direct support on the unit includes a director, manager, supervisor, and lead RN. The charting system used is Epic for RNs. Floating to other Clients may be necessary. Scheduling is Monday to Friday with no weekends or call requirements. Major holidays are closed, and time-off requests need prior approval. Scrub colors are provided. A cafeteria is not available; employees are encouraged to bring lunch.
