This contract position invites a dedicated professional to collaborate closely with OI Specialists, providing essential assistance to students who use walkers, wheelchairs, and various mobility devices. By joining this onsite, itinerant team, you'll play a pivotal part in enhancing accessibility for students, delivering hands-on instruction and maintaining safety throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Paraprofessional experience in a school setting, with particular focus on orthopedic impairments
• Current CPI Certification (required)
• Background in Assistive Technology and Mobility Device Training (required)
• CNA/Medical training is preferred and highly valued
• Administrative experience, especially in complex environments, is a strong advantage
• Experience working within California schools is a plus
• Fluent in Spanish (required), ensuring effective communication with a diverse community

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support students using orthopedic equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers
• Assist OI Specialists in daily classroom and mobility routines
• Oversee the safe use and maintenance of assistive technologies
• Provide training and support to students as they become familiar with equipment
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and equipment usage
• Travel between sites as needed to support an itinerant caseload
