HR Generalist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Schedule: fully onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Duration: temp-to-hire
Salary: $30/hr-$32/hr

Job Description: Supporting the HR department with benefits administration, compliance, leave of absence (LOA), and workers' comp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Assist with processing LOA requests; communicate and provide necessary leave documents to employees and engage in the interactive process with employees
-Accurately track an update internal Leave of Absence log
-Respond to EDD inquiries as they pertain to state disability and UI claims
-Prepare personnel records for workers' comp and other claims
-Post job requisitions according to requests
-Present approved job offers to candidates; prepare and send candidate offer letters using the HRIS
-Initiate candidate background check process and regularly review for verification updates
-General benefits administration such as responding to employee inquiries and updates
-Provide support to the HR team as needed, including new hire onboarding

QUALIFCATIONS:
-Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
-2 - 3 years of HR administrator or generalist experience
-Proficient in federal and state leave of absence regulations, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.
-Working knowledge of and experience with Paycom highly preferred but not required
-Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently and independently
-Great attention to detail and great organizational skills
-Excellent communication skills, reasoning, and problem-solving ability
