Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a winter contract in an oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in step-down or PCU units, demonstrate proficiency in EPIC documentation, and be comfortable floating across various units within the hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to oncology and hematology patients.
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret EKGs and strips, and respond to changes effectively.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other IV medications per protocol.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments and interventions using EPIC.
• Assist with unit float assignments, adapting quickly to different clinical environments.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in any state with current active status or compact license.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of RN experience, with experience in step-down/PCU units preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with EPIC charting and documentation.
• Must have oncology or sickle cell care experience; chemo certification is preferred.
• Ability to pass online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start date.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, with ability to interpret strips.
