Windows Server Cloud Systems Engineer

About the role

Falcon IT and Staffing Solutions is seeking a motivated mid-level Windows Server Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Defense's premier data analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in enterprise systems deployment, with strong skills in Windows Server, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and federal cybersecurity compliance. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical applications in a secure, compliance-driven environment, contributing to cutting-edge data platform deployments.

Job Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms according to organizational architecture and security requirements
• Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure DISA STIG compliance and remediate findings during deployment
• Update and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and other configuration settings to align with security baselines
• Support patching and update cycles for deployed platforms, ensuring timely remediation of vulnerabilities
• Document deployment processes, configuration changes, and compliance artifacts for audits and reporting
• Participate in Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) tracking and remediation efforts to maintain compliance posture
• Provide technical troubleshooting for deployment issues and escalate complex problems as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment workflows, automation scripts, and security hardening practices

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in enterprise IT systems deployment or administration
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy Object (GPO) management
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, NIST frameworks, and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements
• Basic scripting skills in PowerShell for automation and configuration tasks
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in structured, compliance-driven environments
• Experience with patch management tools such as SCCM/MECM or WSUS
• Knowledge of RBAC, identity management, and secure configuration practices
• Ability to document deployment processes and support audit and compliance reporting
