Operating Room RN in Lawrence, KS

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• At least one year of recent experience as an RN in an operating room (OR) environment
• Strong understanding of surgical asepsis, patient safety, and sterile technique
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
• Proficient in circulating and/or scrub nurse roles for a variety of surgical procedures
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare the operating room for surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and set up
• Assist surgical teams during procedures by anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests
• Monitor patient condition throughout the perioperative process and advocate for their safety
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of intraoperative activities and patient responses
• Work within established protocols and surgical best practices to maintain a safe, efficient environment
• Provide patient and family education as needed regarding the perioperative process
• Participate in post-procedure debriefings and quality improvement initiatives
