ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Equitable and Accessible Mobility Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting equitable and accessible transportation programs at MTC, with a focus on improving mobility options for residents of Equity Priority Communities, people with disabilities, seniors, and other underserved populations. Responsibilities include helping launch and administer the new Transportation Network Company (TNC) Access for All program, supporting implementation of the Community Action Resource and Empowerment (CARE) program to enable delivery of equity‑focused capital projects, administering the Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 program, and advancing follow‑up actions from MTC’s Accessible Futures conference. The role involves program development, grant administration, and close coordination with partner agencies and community‑based organizations, as well as providing technical assistance, monitoring project progress, and tracking grant spending to ensure programs are implemented effectively and inclusively. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Program Management Develop and refine guidelines for existing and new funding programs Evaluate project submittals and develop proposed programs of projects for Commission approval Prepare public-facing reports and presentations describing funding decisions for a variety of audiences Execute grant agreements with project recipients Review and process invoices Monitor grant status and remaining funding balances in partnership with Finance colleagues Stakeholder Coordination Build consensus for grant program guidelines and project selections among partner agency and community‑based organization staff Collaborate and develop partnerships with community‑based organizations receiving grant funding Provide technical assistance to community‑based organizations receiving grants to support compliance with federal and state requirements Other Related Duties Represent MTC at meetings, review written reports and memoranda prepared by project staff and make presentations before MTC committees, executive staff, and other agencies Perform other job‑related duties as needed or assigned by the section Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Familiarity with transportation approaches to advance equity for historically underserved populations Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal collaborators as well as staff at partner agencies and organizations Collaborative approach to building effective relationships with community‑based organizations Ability to manage multiple programs with strong time management skills and attention to detail Communication skills to explain policy considerations clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, both orally and in writing Flexibility and willingness to develop programs from the ground up, often without existing procedures to follow, and to seek process improvements for existing workflows

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Program Coordinator II Education and Experience: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning, civil engineering, environmental science, business or public administration, or a related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible professional level experience in a field related to assigned program. Education and Experience: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning, civil engineering, environmental science, business or public administration, or a related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience administering programs in a field related to assignment area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field related to the area of assignment, such as transportation planning, public policy, transportation engineering, economics, or public administration. A Master’s degree is preferred. Applicants with a degree issued from an institution outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic accrediting service and provide proof of equivalency along with their application.
