Our North Olmsted center is Horizon’s flagship location, tracing its roots back to the founding of the organization by Mary Smith in 1978. This premier facility features 10 classrooms, a full gymnasium, and dedicated playgrounds for each age group. We serve children from infancy through school‑age, including after‑school programming through age 12, with a strong commitment to excellence through Ohio’s Step Up to Quality system, with a Gold Rating. Position Summary Horizon Education Centers is seeking an experienced, self‑starter, results‑driven Center Director to lead our North Olmsted flagship campus to full enrollment. This leadership role oversees a large, multi‑program center and requires a strong focus on enrollment growth, staff leadership, and compliance excellence. If you have a proven center leadership team, bring them with you. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and daily management of the center Recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing staff Drive enrollment growth and retention Ensure compliance with Ohio licensing regulations Maintain Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) Gold rating standards Avoid serious and moderate licensing risks Foster relationships with families and the community Oversee programming from infant through school-age Qualifications Three to five years of administrative experience in a medium to large DCY center is required Minimum Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. Proven success in enrollment growth, staff leadership, and compliance. Strong child care leadership success will be weighted over education. DCY Administrator Rules training is required and must be completed upon hire if not already qualified Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and Ohio Approved professional development opportunities, and industry trends Ability to build positive relationships with coworkers, families, vendors, and the community through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem‑solving spirit Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to expertly deal with internal and external individuals in a positive manner Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to multitask and have strong detail‑oriented, time management, and organizational skills Work independently as well as collaboratively as an active part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and other software programs; emphasis on Excel Can lift and carry a minimum of 40lbs. as required Must pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required Compensation & Employee Benefits Base Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 Bonus Opportunity: Up to $21,000 annually Recognition of prior childcare experience for seniority 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan with generous match options Medical coverage, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Pre‑paid employment screenings/onboarding, including, but not limited to, transcripts, fingerprints, and physical/immunization Paid Time Off Paid professional development Learn and Earn Tuition Programs Discounted childcare #J-18808-Ljbffr Horizon Education Centers
