Summary This position is located in the Naval Support Activity, Regional Support Services Program, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Recreation Division. The purpose of this position is to provide food and beverage service for catered functions, conference and/or special events. Responsibilities Performs necessary preparations in assigned area prior to opening the dining room such as; setting the tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations. Prepares back-up tables with such supplements as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads. Must be familiar with the menu for the day, offer suggestions if requested, record desired selections from guests and turn in the order for preparation to thekitchen. Serves side dishes such as salads, fruit dishes, bread, wine or other beverages. When meal is completed, clears and cleans table and the immediate area, and resets the table in preparation for the next guests.Performs other related duties as required. Must meet minimum age requirement. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate must possess: Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation techniques. Knowledge of proper table setting techniques.Ability to follow oral instructions; performs routine manual tasks involving few steps. Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
