American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an acute care Operating Room position requiring total joints, urology, and robotics experience.

Acute care hospital setting with 8 OR suites plus 1 cystoscopy room.

Averages 15-25 cases per day including both inpatient and same-day-surgery.

Common case types include general, ortho, urology (approx 70% of cases), vascular, and podiatry.

Team includes 9 Surgical Techs and 3 Surgical Assists, with Charge and Manager available as resources.

Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic in April 2025.

Day shift schedule, 8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

On-call required approximately 1x per week from 5 PM to the start of next shift, plus 1 weekend per month from end of Friday to start of Monday shift.

May be asked to participate in Holiday Call Rotation.

30-minute call response time required.

No floating required.

Hours per week: 40.

Hours per shift: 8.

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist required.

Experience with total joints, urology, and robotics procedures required.

C-section experience required.

BLS certification (AHA).

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential via NBSTSA.

License required if applicable.

Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital.

Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Assist surgical teams during a high volume of daily inpatient and same-day surgery cases.

Work alongside a team of surgical techs and assists under charge and manager support.

Unit-specific orientation lasts 3-5 days with a preceptor.

Scrubs are provided by the facility; candidates should arrive presentable to the hospital.

Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying.

Cumulative traveler assignments within WVU Medicine cannot exceed one year without a 2-year break.

No local candidates accepted due to radius rule.
