YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: As an Estimator III on our Renewables Pre‑Construction team, you will lead full‑cycle estimating for renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents to understand requirements and scope. Identify project risks and collaborate with the overall project team to determine mitigation strategies. Identify missing information in owner documents and prepare RFIs. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for cost estimation. Identify potential value‑engineering opportunities for review with senior estimators, engineering, and project managers. Utilize industry‑standard estimating software and tools to develop detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Research and evaluate vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for project components. Coordinate with other estimating discipline leads to compile a complete estimate package. Participate in bid review meetings and assist in preparing bid proposals. Conduct value‑engineering exercises to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards. Support the negotiations team by providing required information for negotiation. Provide a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package to the senior estimator for approval. Create accurate proposal letters based on the estimate for review and editing by the project team. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitiveness. Support senior estimators and contribute to departmental initiatives to improve estimating processes. Mentor and guide junior estimators, supporting their professional development. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Good knowledge of assigned discipline, construction technology, and estimating techniques. Interpret computerized cost data and systems. Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating. Read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings. Identify and meet customers' needs, expectations, and requirements. Solve practical problems and handle varying variables with limited standardization. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt priorities as needed. Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Willingness to learn from more senior estimators and incorporate feedback. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. WHAT YOU BRING TO US: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 5–7 years of construction estimating experience, preferably in renewable energy; experience in Accubid Enterprise is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and project meetings. TRAVEL: Up to 10% WORKING CONDITIONS: General work environment: sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Exposure to outside weather conditions during job site visits.
