Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting and is founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect. Foxdale is regarded as a premier healthcare facility both locally and nationally and has been voted "Best Retirement Community in State College, PA" for over a decade. Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations. We currently have an opportunity for a new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team.

We are hiring for:

• Full-time position and expected work 40 hours per week (2:15pm-10:45 pm) and every other weekend/holiday.
• Full-time position and expected work 36 hours per week (10:30am-11pm) and every other weekend/holiday.
• Full-time position and expected work 36 hours per week (6:30am-7pm) and every other weekend/holiday.
• Part-time position and expected work 20 hours per week (7pm–11:30pm) and every other weekend/holiday.

CNA Job Summary:

Responsible for delivering effective care to residents when needed. This includes answering call bells, completing documentation, maintaining confidentiality, develop relationships with residents, and identifying and reporting problems with residents and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Provide individualized care as outlined on the plan of care and as assigned by the Charge Nurse (CN) confidently, effectively, and in a timely manner.
2. Work cooperatively with other Health Services staff and voluntarily assist co-workers and residents.
3. Respond to call bells and other safety devices within a reasonable amount of time, acknowledge residents' requests, and deliver residents' messages to the proper person.
4. Assist residents in need of assistance during meal times.
5. Participate in activities, programs, and incorporate rehabilitation principles into delivery of care to the residents.
6. Assume responsibility for and complete required documentation legibly and in a timely manner.
7. Carry out procedures as taught and defined in procedure and policy manuals.
8. Maintain confidentiality of the residents.
9. Participate in employee in-service education programs and safety drills.
10. Exhibit a friendly, caring approach while dealing with staff, residents, and residents' family members.
11. Encourage stimulating conversation with each resident.
12. Recognize and reports changes in residents' physical, psychological, and social well-being to the Charge Nurse (CN).
13. Suggest alternatives to general resident care when appropriate.
14. Identify and report problems with equipment or other hazards immediately upon discovery.
15. Observe safety procedures such as fire, hygiene, and emergency.
16. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and correctly.
17. Maintain a neat and appropriate personal appearance.
18. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in order to meet the daily health care needs of the residents.
19. Provide escort services to outside appointments, as needed.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or its equivalent and completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
• Language: Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
• Math: Must be able to complete tasks using basic math skills.
• Computer: Must be able to enter resident care information via a touchscreen.
• Training: Certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Health or certification from a state other than Pennsylvania with proof of transferring certification to Pennsylvania.
