Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer | Lehigh Valley, PA | Direct Hire | Onsite

BY Recruiting is partnering with an established precision manufacturing company in the Lehigh Valley. The business is growing, and this role was added to support that growth.

This is a hands-on engineering seat, not a desk job. You will spend at least half your day on the shop floor working directly with production, operators, and engineering.

What you will do

\n
• Lead root cause and corrective action on internal and customer issues using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone
\n
• Drive internal scrap reduction and continuous improvement projects
\n
• Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans
\n
• Own SPC and MSA data and analysis
\n
• Conduct internal audits supporting IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 compliance
\n
• Support supplier quality as needed
\n
• Partner with production, operators, and the quality team on the floor
\n

What we are looking for

\n
• Machining background or IATF 16949 experience (both is ideal)
\n
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T
\n
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001
\n
• Hands-on root cause and corrective action experience (8D, 5 Why)
\n
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, and MSA
\n
• Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. All levels are considered, from early career to senior.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent manufacturing experience
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
\n

Preferred

\n
• CNC machining or precision metal manufacturing experience
\n
• ASQ CQE or CQA certification, or internal auditor experience
\n
• AIAG Core Tools and PFMEA development
\n
• Experience with CMMs and precision measurement
\n
• Scrap reduction or yield improvement results you can quantify
\n

Schedule

Primarily first shift, with occasional overlap into second shift. Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites.

Compensation and benefits

\n
• $75,000 to $110,000 base salary, depending on experience
\n
• 10% annual bonus target with a strong payout history
\n
