Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist for a travel assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah . This role is responsible for overseeing outpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, providing patient-centered medication counseling, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support high-quality patient care. The Pharmacist will play a key role in medication safety, pharmacy leadership, and clinical service delivery. 

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily outpatient pharmacy operations and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Manage medication dispensing, storage, recordkeeping, and inventory controls.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, adherence, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, support staff, and student interns as applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety programs.
• Monitor pharmacy performance metrics and compliance standards.
• Serve as a resource for medication-related questions and clinical recommendations. 

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Active Utah Pharmacist license in good standing, or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Previous leadership or Pharmacist-in-Charge experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication management, and patient safety practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a motivated pharmacist who enjoys working in a collaborative healthcare environment, values patient-centered care, and possesses strong clinical and operational pharmacy skills. Experience in outpatient, ambulatory care, or community pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
