Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Washington, DC. As part of a comprehensive psychiatric practice, you will provide individualized, evidence‑based psychotherapy and mental health assessment to adults, adolescents, and/or children experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. You will conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments, formulate DSM‑5–aligned diagnoses, and develop collaborative treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. Using advanced therapeutic approaches—such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma‑informed care, and other evidence‑based modalities—you will deliver individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy in an outpatient setting. In this role, you will maintain a manageable caseload, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care while meeting documentation and productivity expectations. You will complete timely, accurate clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in our electronic health record system, coordinating closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, primary care providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will participate in case consultations, treatment team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing your clinical expertise to enhance patient outcomes and support integrated, holistic care.
