Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Contract Length: 9 Months Location: New York, NY Work Setup: Hybrid
The ETS Business Systems Delivery (BSD) Customer Engagement Pega team partners with Customer Operations and Energy Services organizations to deliver critical enterprise technology initiatives. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of applications that support essential business operations and customer engagement platforms.
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Responsibilities
- Drive the software quality assurance lifecycle across Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to define comprehensive testing strategies.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Create and maintain automated UI, functional, and regression test suites using modern automation frameworks.
- Perform hands-on manual testing to validate application functionality and user experience.
- Enhance and support Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines to improve release quality and efficiency.
- Review, validate, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and issues in systems under test.
- Contribute to quality engineering best practices and continuous process improvements.
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test.
- Strong experience with web application testing and Continuous Integration processes.
- Hands-on expertise with automation testing tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
- Experience with API testing using Postman and/or SoapUI.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and database validation techniques.
- Experience with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools including ADO, JIRA, and RCLM.
- Experience with Manual testing.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar platforms.
- Background supporting enterprise-scale applications and customer engagement platforms.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
