L3 - Training Specialist

$29 - $32 per hour

Overview Our team has developed a strong culture of safety, professionalism and personal responsibility. The Training Specialist will work closely with trainees to assess their needs, set development goals, and provide hands‑on coaching in both soft and technical skills. They will deliver individualized or group coaching sessions focused on skill‑building (e.g., communication, job readiness, safety standards, etc.) and facilitate in‑car and classroom training sessions, track performance, give constructive feedback and determine readiness for skills assessments. Key Responsibilities Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety inside and outside of the vehicle. Consistently demonstrate situational awareness and an understanding of vehicle technology. Communicate courteously with management, engineers and the public. Operate with safety as the primary goal. Conduct classroom sessions and training presentations for new hires and for employees selected for upskilling programs. Assist in creating and maintaining training programs and materials. Act as a mentor, providing career or academic advice when applicable. Answer questions, address concerns, and provide resources for further learning. Be able to safely orchestrate training for multiple trainees at the same time, inside and outside of a vehicle. Standardize and maintain consistent training practices across the organization. Participate in weekly and daily meetings with managers and peers to discuss training improvement and trainee performance. Welcome and onboard new hires with a positive and professional attitude. Practice a firm yet understanding teaching style to accommodate different learning styles. Respond quickly to changing and high‑pressure environments. Set the tone and example for less experienced employees. Participate in operational missions to maintain best practices and updates about autonomous vehicles. Comply with Transdev’s zero‑tolerance policy regarding alcohol or drugs, including randomized drug testing. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Minimum of 3 years driving on public roads (additional experience preferred). High School Diploma or GED required; a four‑year college degree in a related field preferred. Minimum 3 months of operating and testing autonomous vehicles required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, Sheets, Docs). Proficiency with a touchscreen smartphone. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail and the ability to describe thoughts concisely. Ability to respond quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios. Adapt quickly to new and developing technology. Cross‑functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation. Ability to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight, and travel up to 30% of the time. Self‑motivated and demonstrate good judgment in fast‑paced, high‑stress environments. Physical Requirements Long periods of standing, walking and sitting. Use hands and fingers; climb stairs and ladders; occasionally lift or move up to 45 pounds. Skilled use of vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Most work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle. Pre‑Employment Requirements Must be 21 years old. Complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check; safety‑sensitive positions require a physical screening. Maintain an acceptable driving record suitable for driving duties. Possibly qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license where required. Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
