Senior Consultant, Ports and Marine Civil/Structural Engineer

Senior Consultant, Ports and Marine Civil/Structural Engineer WSP is seeking a full‑time Senior Consultant to join our Houston‑TX office and work on projects with the Ports and Maritime Team. The role focuses on civil/structural design for marine and upland components, supporting project planning, cost estimation, and cross‑functional collaboration. Responsibilities Perform civil/structural design for marine and upland components under supervision of senior ports and marine engineers Prepare technical written communications (memoranda, reports) Support managers in creation of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates in accordance with client requirements Work in a team to ensure work product meets scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements Perform design calculations in support of broader engineering activities Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of site work and code compliance Complete training on assigned tasks Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 5+ years of post‑education experience in marine, port, or civil/structural engineering Knowledge of marine, port, and coastal construction codes, regulations, and compliance practices Analytical mindset with sound judgement and decision‑making ability Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team Basic proficiency with technical writing and relevant engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, spreadsheets) Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP policies Occasional travel may be required Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training certification Previous design experience in marine uprights or upland facilities Membership or active participation in local professional practice organizations Field investigation and/or construction support experience Hands‑on design experience Commercial dive license (ADCI or DCBC) for additional positions Equal Opportunity Employer WSP USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
