Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join a Level 1 Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating clinical expertise and a commitment to excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Manage patient treatments based on established protocols.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and dysrhythmias.
• Utilize EPIC charting for accurate documentation.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care.
• Participate in procedures and administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation as needed.
• Perform triage evaluations in emergency settings.

Schedule

The role requires flexibility with weekend scheduling. Nurses will work three weekends (Friday to Sunday) within a four-week schedule and may be scheduled for one, two, or three days over the weekend.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state nursing license.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS by AHA, PALS, TNCC.
• NIH certification required.
• Minimum of two years of Emergency Room nursing experience, specifically in a Level 1 trauma setting.
• Prior experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with EPIC charting is preferred.
• Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration experience preferred.
• Triage experience is a plus.

Additional Information

The Emergency Department is currently experiencing high patient volumes, resulting in ratios of approximately 1:5 to 1:6, with the potential to increase to 1:8 during peak times or holidays. The position may also involve floating to the Pediatric Emergency Department.
