Pay: Up to $85,000 annually, based on experience

This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity . During the contract period, the selected candidate will be employed through US-Enhanced Personnel .

After successfully completing the contract period and onboarding directly with the client, the employee will begin accruing the client's benefits , including:

Job Description

A confidential commercial electrical contractor in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager / Estimator to join its team.

This position is approximately 70% Project Management and 30% Estimating and requires a strong foundation in commercial electrical field work . The successful candidate must understand electrical construction firsthand, be capable of leading experienced field electricians, communicate professionally with General Contractors and customers, and confidently address technical and operational issues that arise on active jobsites.

This opportunity may be particularly attractive to an experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, Service Manager, or Lead Electrician who has already been responsible for crews, jobsites, materials, schedules, and GC/customer communication and is ready to take the next step into broader Project Management and Estimating responsibilities.

Candidates currently working as Electrical Project Managers, Project Manager/Estimators, Electrical Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, Service Managers, or experienced Lead Commercial Electricians are encouraged to apply if you have the technical knowledge, leadership ability, communication skills, and professional presence required to move into or continue growing within Project Management.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from handoff through completion
• Manage approximately 3–7 active projects depending on project size and complexity
• Coordinate field crews, manpower, schedules, materials, equipment, and project priorities
• Visit jobsites regularly and provide leadership and technical support to field electricians
• Communicate directly with General Contractors, customers, suppliers, and other trades
• Participate in project meetings, jobsite visits, estimates, and project coordination
• Monitor project schedules, progress, and field productivity
• Identify and manage scope changes and change orders
• Coordinate material purchasing, supplier pricing, availability, and lead times
• Maintain accurate project documentation
• Monitor labor, project costs, and overall project profitability
• Resolve field conditions, technical issues, scheduling conflicts, and constructability concerns
• Promote safety, quality, productivity, and accountability
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and General Contractors
• Take ownership of projects through successful completion

Estimating Responsibilities

• Review commercial electrical plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform electrical material takeoffs
• Develop labor and material requirements
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and vendor pricing
• Prepare estimates and bid packages
• Identify scope gaps, drawing conflicts, constructability concerns, and potential code issues
• Assist with bid strategy and project pricing
• Prepare estimates for change orders and additional work
• Participate in bid follow-up and negotiations

The company currently uses Quantum estimating software . Previous Quantum experience is preferred but not required , as training can be provided to a qualified candidate.

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on commercial electrical construction experience
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and installation practices
• Experience leading commercial electricians or electrical field crews
• Ability to read and interpret commercial electrical plans, drawings, specifications, and schematics
• Practical working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Knowledge of commercial electrical power distribution and installations, including panels, feeders, conduit, branch circuits, lighting, and related systems
• Strong jobsite troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with General Contractors and customers
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using computers and learning Project Management and estimating software
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Commercial Electrical Project Management experience
• Commercial electrical estimating experience
• Experience as an Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, Service Manager, or similar field leadership position
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with manpower planning and field scheduling
• Experience with project budgets, labor tracking, change orders, and profitability
• Experience developing electrical estimates from plans and specifications
• Experience with supplier pricing, material procurement, and lead-time coordination
• Quantum or other electrical estimating software experience
• Strong customer relationship and business-development skills

Work Environment & Travel

This position involves a combination of office and field responsibilities, with approximately 70% field and 30% office involvement within the Project Management portion of the role .

The Project Manager will report to/meet at the Greensboro office regularly and travel to active jobsites as needed. Projects are primarily located within North Carolina, with the expectation that the employee will generally return home daily rather than perform routine overnight travel.
