Patient Engagement Recruiter

The Patient Engagement Specialist (Subject Recruiter) plays a vital role in identifying, educating, and engaging potential clinical research participants. This position requires the ability to communicate study information clearly and accurately using appropriate medical terminology while ensuring patient understanding through effective education. The Specialist will address participant questions and concerns with professionalism, document detailed and high-quality call notes to support compliance and continuity of care, and coordinate scheduling and outreach efforts in alignment with study protocols. Spanish-speaking fluency and travel is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities

• Respond to inbound calls from potential participants, providing clear, medically accurate study information in patient-friendly language.
• Educate patients on study purpose, procedures, risks, benefits, and eligibility criteria to support informed decision-making.
• Address patient questions and concerns thoroughly, tailoring explanations to varying levels of health literacy.
• Document comprehensive, accurate, and detailed call notes, including participant responses, relevant clinical history, and required follow-up actions.
• Review and interpret study protocols to screen participants against inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Conduct proactive outreach efforts to identify and engage eligible participants.
• Schedule study visits and coordinate logistics, including transportation when applicable.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) and other assigned systems.
• Collaborate with the recruitment team by providing updates on participant engagement and screening outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Support administrative tasks as needed, including greeting visitors, answering calls, and handling study-related documentation.
• Adhere to all Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, organizational policies, and supervisory instructions.

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office and clinic setting. Daily activities require the use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, and electronic filing systems.

Travel is primarily within 77084, 77450, 77494 area. Mileage/Gas is reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Spanish-speaking fluency required.
• Prior experience in clinical research, medical office, patient recruitment, healthcare, call center, or sales roles preferred.
• Strong ability to use and clearly explain medical terminology with accuracy and confidence.
• Demonstrated experience in patient education and handling health-related questions.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce detailed, high-quality documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a supervised team environment.
• Proficiency with scheduling systems, CTMS, or similar applications highly desirable.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Flexible start and end times may be adjusted to optimize call volume coverage.
