Core Faculty Position: Academic General Cardiologist

Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship - Lakeland, Florida

Our organization is growing as an academic institution and is in search of a General Cardiologist to become a core educator within our ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. At our facility, general cardiologists play a crucial role in the training of fellows, exemplifying clinical judgment and evidence-based practices across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Core faculty role: oversee fellows during inpatient consultations and continuity clinics, conduct structured educational sessions, perform milestone-based evaluations, and participate in the Clinical Competency Committee.
• Allocated academic time for teaching, curriculum design, research, and quality improvement initiatives integrated into the work schedule.
• Engage in a balanced clinical practice: provide inpatient consultative services and outpatient general cardiology, supported by a comprehensive noninvasive imaging system and collaboration with subspecialty experts in heart failure, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.
• Mentor fellows in research and quality improvement projects, with assistance from our on-site Research Department and simulation lab.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree, board certified or eligible in Cardiovascular Disease (ABMS/AOA).
• Current Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Proven dedication to the education of trainees.
• Clinical proficiency in both inpatient and outpatient general cardiology, including noninvasive imaging techniques.
