Stationary Engineer - PRN

As a Stationary Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping our facilities safe, reliable, and running at their best. You'll inspect, operate, and maintain high-pressure steam powerhouse systems, HVAC equipment, emergency power, and fire protection systems that are essential to supporting patient care. Your day-to-day work will include monitoring and maintaining logs in the Central Utility Plant, identifying trends to help prevent issues, operating and maintaining boilers, and inspecting and documenting a variety of utility systems, including bulk oxygen tanks and chillers. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will help keep critical systems operating safely and efficiently. A caregiver in this position works day shift, 6am-2:30pm A caregiver who excels in this role will: Inspect, operate and maintain a high pressure/steam powerhouse, HVAC systems and emergency power and fire protection systems. Monitor and maintain HVAC-related source and distribution equipment such as steam, chilled water, water chemistry, humidification, air handling, etc. Monitor and respond to all fire protection systems. Respond to all emergency calls. Test and monitor emergency generators and transfer equipment. Work at other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Current Third-Class Stationary Engineer License or higher from the State of Ohio, or an equivalent state recognized certification Valid Stationary Engineer's License issued by another state is acceptable; however, continued employment requires either approval for license transfer by the State of Ohio or successful completion of the Ohio licensure exam within 12 months of hire Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, cooling towers and air handling systems Must possess working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics Military experience such as Machinists Mate (MM), Electric Power Production (3E0X2) or similar will be considered Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 2 years of experience as a stationary engineer or industrial/utility power plant operator (time spent in a Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship Program may be applied toward this preferred experience) Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergency generators, and HVAC equipment Physical Requirements: Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information Ability to move/transport items, equipment, or carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.) Ability to inspect equipment Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures Ability to distinguish color Ability to climb ladders Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $49.00 Maximum hourly: $49.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
