Key Responsibilities

• Float across up to 5 Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, including orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology, surgery, and cardiothoracic, adapting quickly to each unit's patient population
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; pass an on-site telemetry competency exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts permitted)
• Manage titratable IV drips including nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions, particularly on night shift
• Provide direct patient care at an average ratio of 5:1 across units ranging from 16 to 32 beds
• Utilize Meditech for documentation and clinical workflows
• Maintain availability most Fridays; adhere to scheduling requirements with no more than 3 days of RTO requested

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Stepdown or IMCU experience required for night shift, with demonstrated comfort managing titratable IV infusions
• Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass on-site competency exam
• Proficiency with Meditech
• At least 1 recent, successfully completed travel nursing contract
• Active certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of nursing experience
• Previous float pool experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
