Sr. Maintenance Technician 1st Shift

A growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company needs permanent, full-time Sr. Maintenance Technician at their plant in northern NJ. Excellent hourly pay rate + O/T + full benefits.

Location: Northvale, NJ

Compensation: Hourly pay rate of $35 - $40 / HR + OT (1.5x)

Relocation: Prefer local.

The company manufactures controlled Generic Solid dosage drug products, has been in business for 30 years, with 3 nearby sites for HQ, Packaging and Warehouse operations. The packaging operations has 2 high tech packaging lines in a brand-new site which started shipping commercial products this month in March, to allow for much needed expansion of manufacturing due to high product demand.

Be part of the Maintenance Team of 4, supporting the production systems unit operations of Solid Dosage Manufacturing of Tablets and capsules, Packaging, Warehouse and Facility operations. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

The Manufacturing unit operations includes powder blending, mixing, coating, compression tableting, encapsulation. The Packaging unit operations include sorting, bottle filling, capping, labelling, packaging. The Warehouse included controlled substances storage meeting DEA standards, retrieval and shipping.

The right person will need to have a responsible, proactive, high-energy personality who can work independently in a small but fast paced growing environment. The right person will need to have multi skill set and experience with Mechanical, Electrical systems for production/packaging. Candidates with only facility/utility/HVAC system maintenance experience will not be considered.

Job Summary: Perform repairs and preventative maintenance ensuring that machines and equipment are properly maintained.

Job Description:

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of Facilities, Manufacturing and Packaging equipment
• Assist Compression and Encapsulation personnel in the changeover, operation and troubleshooting
• Assist Engineering in the implementation of projects and continuous improvement objectives
• Facilitate the setup and adjustment of equipment for different product sizes according to packaging line set up sheets
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities and provide input into improvements
• Observing equipment in operation to diagnose problems affecting performance and implementing corrective action
• Perform repairs, replacing broken or defective parts and return equipment to operation
• Interpret schematics and equipment manuals
• Prepare written specifications for major repair parts acquired through established vendors or from machine shops
• Recommend improvements for equipment operation and changeover, provide parts modification sketches
• Basic parts fabrication skills, basic knowledge of pneumatic and electric systems
• Execute IQOQ on production Equipment

Candidate Must Have:

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance of Industrial production/packaging/facility systems
• Some Leadership/Responsible role with demonstrated competency to train team members.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Mechanical, Electrical, pneumatic systems (pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, etc.)

• Good communication & people skills to interface with production, engineering, etc.

Candidate Nice to Have:

• Some Technical certification or Associate degree
• Experience in the Food, BioPharma, Consumer goods, Cosmetics, Medical Device

• Experience working in GMP, DEA, FDA regulated environments
• Troubleshooting experience with PLC/HMI & vision inspection systems.
