PURCHASING AGENT

Summary You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in THE FLEET SUPPLY AND ORDNANCE DIRECTORATE of the COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND. Responsibilities You will serve as a Staff Supply operator of Navy ERP ECC for all procurement and financial management functions. You will provide detailed instructions for non-routine actions, and work is reviewed in progress and upon completion for accuracy, compliance, and procedural adherence. You will process routine to moderately complex purchase requests, focusing on learning and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 8 and 13. You will execute lower-risk, standardized purchases, primarily using established mandatory sources, catalogs (such as GSA Advantage and FedMall), and existing Blanket Purchase Agreements. You will conduct basic market research where sources are readily available and learn to perform cost and price analysis to verify price reasonableness. You will learn to navigate and perform transactional entries in Navy ERP, the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), and Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) platforms under direct guidance. You will identify and analyze issues and select appropriate actions from various alternatives, such as choosing a vendor or correcting a financial entry. You will ensure that specific requested supplies and services are procured correctly and financial records are accurate, affecting the reliability of the supply system and the financial integrity of the division. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
