This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Structures Representative for our Irvine, California office. This position could also be based out of our San Bernardino office. The position can be located within San Bernardino County and the Inland Empire area.The Structures Representative provides technical leadership for complex construction management projects or programs, serving as a Structures Representative supervising construction engineering and inspection activities. This person must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices and independently making decisions on significant construction engineering problems. Elements to be inspected or monitored may include bridge hinges, falsework, pile driving, cofferdams, cast-in-place concrete, waterproofing, structural steel, bearings, expansion joints, precast concrete elements, maintenance or traffic and other similar activities.This is NOT a Structural Design Engineer role. A Structures Representative is a local agency employee (or a consultant hired by a local agency) who performs quality assurance over the contractor’s work that involves structures and who performs the contract’s necessary structure-related administrative tasks.WSP has offices in San Bernardino and Riverside. Projects may span multiple disciplines, such as roadway/highway and transit/rail construction. Your ImpactReviewing and inspecting plans and calculations for: falsework; shoring; staging; bridge removal; and other technical submissions, on City, County, Caltrans and other State projectsResponding to and effectively resolving field construction issuesConducting meetings between contractor, owner, utilities and other project partiesInspecting, documenting, and coordinating field test of construction materialsAnalyzing construction costs of changed conditions, drafting change orders, and recommending claims dispositionsPreparing constructability reviews and reportsAssumes responsibility for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects.Supervises field inspection and field office personnelRepresents projects at meetings and conferencesExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs#LI-TD1Who You AreRequired QualificationsBSCE or related DegreeCurrent California PE licenseMinimum of 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Structures RepresentativeWorking knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materialValid CA driver's license Solid written and verbal skillsExperience working with railroadsProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
