Physician Assistant Job Requirements

• Active Physician Assistant certification or eligibility through NCCPA
• Arizona PA license required or ability to obtain Arizona licensure
• DEA registration required
• ACLS and BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience with EVH proficiency
• Recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery required
• Strong knowledge of adult and geriatric surgical patient care
• Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical support in a cardiothoracic surgery service line
• Manage 10–15 CVICU and step-down patients per day, along with 1–2 surgeries
• Assist with procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• Support the surgeon and care team with perioperative and postoperative patient management
• Participate in day coverage and beeper call as scheduled
• Document care and coordinate workflow in Cerner
• Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital setting
