Financial Systems Consultant - Financial Edge NXT

Our client is seeking an experienced accounting and financial systems professional to support its upcoming Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT go-live. This is a temporary project opportunity for someone who can work independently and help translate existing Finance workflows into documented processes, reporting tools, and repeatable templates within the new system.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance team members to understand current accounting and financial workflows and translate them into processes within Financial Edge NXT
• Develop process documentation, user guides, and other resources to support the new system
• Create standardized budget-management templates to help program managers track spending and staffing allocations
• Develop monthly budget reporting and forecasting tools, including rolling and 12-month forecast templates
• Build repeatable templates that can be replicated across multiple grants and programs
• Review financial data and templates for accuracy and consistency
• Produce initial drafts, incorporate feedback from Finance leadership, and apply approved formats across the organization
• Support the transition of budget and financial-management responsibilities to program managers

Qualifications

• Hands-on Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT experience required
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, budgeting, and forecasting
• Experience creating financial reports, budget templates, process documentation, and user guides
• Strong Excel and data-validation skills
• Ability to gather information from Finance stakeholders and translate existing workflows into clear system processes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute quickly in a project-based environment
• Previous experience within a nonprofit, government, or higher education environment is preferred

• Target pay rate of approximately $55/hour
