$25–$28+/hour average total earnings
Includes hourly base pay plus tip out. Earnings may vary by shift and business volume.
Previous experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar kitchen role preferred, but not required. We have a thorough training program to prepare individuals with strong knife skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn for success in the role.
Requirements:
- Strong knife skills, clean work habits, and the ability to follow recipes, prep guides, and presentation standards accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well with kitchen and service team members.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently while staying organized during prep and service.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining food quality, consistency, and sanitation standards.
- Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and willingness to jump in where needed to support the overall guest experience.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and restaurant specifications.
- Ensure the quality, freshness, proper storage, and safe handling of ingredients, including seafood, rice, produce, sauces, and garnishes.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the sushi bar and kitchen area throughout prep and service.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, allergy awareness, cross-contact prevention, and raw seafood handling standards at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service team members to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service.
- Assist with daily prep, station setup, restocking, breakdown, and end-of-shift cleaning duties.
- Assist in inventory management by communicating product levels, quality concerns, and ordering needs to leadership.
- Provide excellent customer service and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
