Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Low Voltage Project Manager to oversee commercial low-voltage projects from project handoff through completion.
This position is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, including planning, field execution, labor management, project schedules, customer and contractor communication, material coordination, quality control, financial performance, and project closeout .
The ideal candidate understands both the technical and operational sides of low-voltage construction and can effectively lead field teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned low-voltage projects from initial handoff through final completion and closeout.
- Review project scope, contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, and project requirements before work begins.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and completion targets.
- Coordinate field manpower needs with Operations and Project Coordination.
- Provide clear direction and expectations to Lead Technicians and field personnel.
- Monitor technician productivity, workmanship, and overall project progress.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to verify progress, quality, safety, and project conditions.
- Maintain regular communication with general contractors, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Participate in project meetings, job-site meetings, and customer progress meetings as required.
- Identify project delays, scope changes, material issues, and potential risks before they negatively impact the project.
- Review labor usage, material costs, project budgets, and overall job profitability.
- Identify and communicate change-order opportunities and out-of-scope work.
- Coordinate material requirements and verify critical materials are available to support the project schedule.
- Ensure project documentation, field reports, testing records, punch lists, and closeout requirements are completed.
- Manage project punch lists and drive projects through final customer acceptance.
- Escalate significant schedule, manpower, customer, or financial concerns to Operations leadership.
- Maintain professional communication and strong working relationships throughout the life of the project.
Project Manager Ownership
The Project Manager is expected to maintain ownership of the overall health and successful completion of assigned projects .
This includes:
- Scope: Understanding exactly what CRV is responsible for delivering.
- Schedule: Keeping projects moving and proactively addressing delays.
- Labor: Ensuring field manpower is being used effectively.
- Budget: Monitoring labor and material costs against project expectations.
- Quality: Ensuring installations meet company and customer standards.
- Communication: Maintaining clear communication with customers, general contractors, field teams, and internal departments.
- Accountability: Identifying problems early and driving them toward resolution.
- Closeout: Ensuring projects are fully completed, documented, and turned over properly.
Qualifications
- Previous project management experience in low voltage, security, fire alarm, structured cabling, electrical, construction, or a related trade strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction project workflows and field operations.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage systems such as:

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Experience managing field technicians, subcontractors, project schedules, and multiple active projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, technicians, vendors, and leadership.
- Comfortable addressing project issues and holding team members accountable.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management or construction management software.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Travel
This position is based in Birmingham, Alabama and will require regular travel to local and regional project sites.
Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project location and company needs.

We are looking for a Project Manager who can take ownership rather than simply track tasks .
The right candidate will be proactive, organized, comfortable making decisions, and capable of keeping multiple moving pieces aligned. They should be able to recognize when a project is beginning to fall behind, understand why, communicate the issue, and develop a plan to get it back on track.
Most importantly, this person should understand that successful project management means balancing customer expectations, field productivity, schedule, quality, and profitability while keeping communication clear across the entire team.
