Transportation Project Engineer

Project EngineerPape-Dawson is seeking a full-time Transportation Project Engineer based in our Fort Myers office. This position is responsible for project design and task management within roadway design. The Transportation Project Engineer will collaborate with other transportation team members within the roadway and traffic groups, land surveyors, construction engineer inspectors, and landscape architects to assist our clients in developing transportation related projects. This role will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects with private and public clients throughout the state and southeast.Responsibilities:Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses through project softwareHorizontal and vertical geometric designStormwater/erosion prevention and sediment control/traffic control designDirecting and training junior staffSupport project managers in meeting project goals and providing quality deliverablesAdditional related duties as neededQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering5+ years of engineering experience with recent experience in transportation design preferredFlorida PE licenseUnderstanding of roadway design guidance from AASHTOKnowledge of FDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparationExperience in development of roadway plans and specifications along with local municipalities and permitting agenciesReview plans and specifications for constructability, standards compliance, and consistency with project goals.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and attention to detailEEO Statement:All qualified applicants for Pape-Dawson Engineers will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
