The Zuni Service Unit, located within the Zuni Indian Reservation in New Mexico, serves as a cornerstone of healthcare for the Zuni Pueblo community. This vital facility, operated by the Indian Health Service, offers comprehensive medical services, including primary care, dental, behavioral health, and emergency care, all tailored to meet the unique needs of the Zuni population. With a focus on culturally sensitive care, the Zuni Service Unit integrates traditional healing practices with modern medical treatment, ensuring patients receive holistic, compassionate support. RN Infection Control - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The RN Infection Control develops and updates infection control policies, procedures, and annual plans.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., TJC, CMS).
• Facilitate the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and provide regular updates to hospital leadership.
• The RN Infection Control implements, monitors, and documents infection control surveillance activities, including clinical rounds.
• Investigate potential infections and collaborate with clinical staff to implement control measures as needed.
• Develop and lead infection control orientation and training programs for new and current staff.
• Triage high-risk patients for infection control management.
• The RN Infection Control assists in emergency situations, initiating necessary measures when a physician is not available.

RN Infection Control - REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time of completion.
• Must have a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Must have a 3 years of successful infection control experience in a healthcare setting.
