Design Researcher
The Emerging Tech UX team builds digital products to enhance the lives of millions of Walmart customers and associates. We are passionate about solving customer and associate problems with the newest technologies. The team is responsible for creating breakthrough capabilities, delivering frictionless experiences, and making these technologies easily available to thousands of Walmart customers and associates. As a Design Researcher on Emerging Tech, you will help reshape how we engage with the world around us through innovative products. We are finding insights and building the next generation of capabilities to allow our customers to shop seamlessly. You will work as a design researcher to foster collaboration between product and design.
Job Duties: We need your research expertise to support key strategic initiatives throughout the organization. Help team define customer needs, then work with partners to conceive and deliver engaging experiences. Develop and own research projects from start to finish.
Skills Compelling storyteller, focused on crafting effective experiences in the eCommerce space. A researcher who will dive deep into customers' mindsets and help ensure design solutions are both grounded and validated.
Responsibilities Help transform complex problems into easy-to-use designs for millions of customers and associates around the world. Figure out how to best address research goals & questions for partners. Conduct generative and evaluative research studies in critical-need areas of the business using a variety of methodologies. Incorporate research & metrics from multiple sources into work to deliver actionable recommendations that inform design and business strategy. Work without close supervision but seek out and welcome feedback from senior leaders and managers.
Qualifications 4+ years of experience working as a Design Research or UX Researcher or a relevant field in a consumer-focused business/product.
Requirements Hybrid, remote and in office 2+ days per week. Location preference in Sunnyvale, Seattle, New Jersey, or near any Walmart hub preferred.
