An award-winning Long Island health system is launching a new Cardiovascular Surgery Program and is looking for an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant to join the team from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing open-heart surgery program while working alongside a highly skilled cardiovascular surgery team. Position Highlights Support a new open-heart surgery program Collaborate closely with Cardiothoracic Surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Opportunity to help build and shape a new surgical service line Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient care for cardiothoracic surgery patients Function as a first assist in the operating room Perform advanced clinical assessments, order diagnostics, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes Serve as a clinical leader and mentor to fellow Physician Assistants and staff Qualifications NCCPA certification DEA registration BLS & ACLS certifications Recent operating room experience required Cardiothoracic Surgery First Assist experience strongly preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
