Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to oncology patients, ensuring high-quality treatment and support throughout their healthcare journey. Responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care plans tailored to oncology needs.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and institutional protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient symptoms, responding promptly to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment options, side effects, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and hospital policies, including infection control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey or Compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification required prior to start date.
• Proficiency in Meditech EMR preferred.
• Successful passing of a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a score of at least 80%.
• Capable of floating to other units as needed, including observation units.
