Job Opportunity

Position Summary

This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for a Medical Assistant located in Washington, MA. Candidates must possess either a MA-C or MA-R certification, as well as a BLS certification. The clinic specializes in Physiatry and provides a range of services including Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), EMG (electromyography diagnostic testing), and Botox injections for pain management. Experience in a Physiatry clinic is preferred, especially working with patients requiring physical assistance due to disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers in performing clinical procedures and patient care.
• Manage patient intake, including obtaining medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Administer vital signs and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist in scheduling appointments.
• Perform wound care and suture removals as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Experience in outpatient clinics, particularly in a Physiatry setting, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of healthcare terminology and experience with EPIC charting system is highly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with disabled adults and provide compassionate care.
• Must have reliable transportation to commute to the clinic.

Work Schedule

This position follows a Day 5x8 shift from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM, with no weekend or on-call requirements.

Patient Care Focus

The clinic caters to adult patients and offers interdisciplinary support with various specialized services, including an Amputee Clinic and a Wound Clinic.

Additional Information

Candidates should be open to a temporary position that may transition into a permanent role after a 13-week contract. It is essential to ensure availability for interviews as specified during the application process. All required documentation and references must be provided prior to starting.
